Course Overview & Target Audience:

This continuing education accredited conference is focused on practical and clinical issues faced on a daily basis by the neurologists, internists, intensivists, rehabilitation medicine physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who treat patients with inflammatory and immune mediated neurologic disorders. Basic immunologic concepts in neurologic diseases and their applications to new therapies will be reviewed and their effect on patients will be discussed.

Didactic presentations will be interspersed with interesting cases and expert panel discussions to elaborate on specific points of controversy and to answer audience questions. Presentations and discussions will be led by nationally and internationally recognized academic and clinical experts in their field.


Learning Objectives:

Upon the completion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe basic immunologic concepts in neurologic diseases and their  applications to new therapies
  • Explain and review the new treatment recently approved by the FDA  for Myasthia Gravis and the latest concepts in the pathogenesis of  myasthenia gravis
  • Identify possible immunomodulatory therapies for acute stroke
  • Review novel imaging techniques of brain, nerves and muscles affected by immunologic diseases
  • Summarize the state-of-the-art concepts of genetic and immunological features of adult and children with multiple sclerosis and discuss the treatment options and complications for the disease
  • Correctly diagnose chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy (CIDP)
  • Explain the role and clinical utility of new antigens in  autoimmune neuropathies

Registration Fees:

The registration fees for Immunotherapy for Neurologic Disorders are $195 for physicians and industry employees, $125 for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, healthcare professionals, residents and fellows. Penn Medicine employees, faculty, staff and students will receive special conference rate of $95 as long as registrant has a valid Penn Medicine ID (required). The registration fee includes attendance to the conference, conference materials and the link to view the presentation (slides) online, continental breakfast, mid-morning break, lunch, afternoon break and reception.

We cannot accept faxed or mailed registration forms with credit card information. To pay by check, complete the registration form and mail it in with your check. Please see the registration form for mailing information. Please note: mailed registrations can take up to 5-10 business days before they are received. All registrations will be confirmed by email as long as your registration is received by May 16, 2018.


Meeting Location & Overnight Accomodations:

Immunotherapy for Neurologic Disorders will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at The Study, 20 South 33rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. The Study is offering a courtesy block rate of $229 for those attending Immunotherapy for Neurologic Disorders. You can reach reservations by calling 215-387-1400. Please mention you are attending the conference when securing your reservation.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellations must be received in writing by May 4, 2018 (subject to a service charge equivalent to 10% of the registration fee). No refunds will be issued thereafter.

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone this course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund any registration fees but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines, and travel agencies.
