The Mission of Continuing Education at Penn Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is to foster and support improvements in interprofessional collaborative practice, patient experience and health outcomes through engagement of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team in continuous professional development and life-long learning.

To accomplish this mission, we apply evidence and best practices from the science of learning and teaching and implementation science to develop, accredit, and evaluate activities and initiatives that are designed to improve skills, strategy and performance of providers and healthcare teams and the delivery of patient care, ultimately resulting in better health outcomes. By aligning our activities with the relevant competency frameworks, we support our learners as faculty, healthcare professionals and as healthcare teams in providing high value care to their patients and the communities they serve.
